There is no Day Use Fee at this Park.
OFFICE AND GATE INFORMATION:
The park is open 7 days a week year-round. Closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve at Noon, and Christmas Day.
Office and Gates open 8am to 5pm.
Hours Extended 8am to 7pm. Saturdays and Sundays in May thru September.
The lake, its banks and levees are open every day from Sunrise to Sunset.
The Sheldon Lake State Park and Environmental Learning Center (14140 Garrett Road at Park Road 138) offers a variety of nature and ecology programs to organized groups on a reservation basis. Park staff and volunteers provide programs on nature/ecology, nature walks, catch-and-release fishing in two stocked ponds, pond ecology, native plant gardening, hunter education, composting and recycling. Programs range in time from 1-2 hours each. Without special arrangements, group size is limited to 50 children. Teachers and chaperones must accompany the group in at least a 1 to 10 ratio.

Getting There:
Heading northbound on Beltway 8, exit Garrett Rd. At the stoplight turn right and head east on Garrett Rd for 2 miles. The park entrance is on your right hand side.
Heading southbound on Beltway 8, exit Garrett Rd/Little York Rd. At the stoplight turn left and head east on Garrett Rd. for 2 miles. The park entrance is on your right hand side.
